Eve for Life, a Jamaican born NGO charity with global impact, that is championing the cause of shaping a world where the sexual health and rights of young women and girls are protected and upheld. It was founded in 2008 in response to a dire need for support to women and children living with or affected by HIV and AIDS.
Using an empowerment model, EVE for Life works with adolescent girls and young women/mothers who have been affected by HIV and/or sexual violence , to improve their access to critical services, build key life skills and empower them to demand services in line with their health rights and needs.
EVE’s mission is ‘To improve the sexual and reproductive health and rights, and quality of life, of young women and girls exposed to HIV and sexual and gender-based violence. The organisation is on the front line of female victimization & marginalization in Jamaica, and provides a haven of care and commitment for women and girls from low-income communities who are at risk or have contracted HIV/AIDS at the hands of a sexual predator; giving them hope, health, a path to freedom and more positive life outcomes.
With the support of their donor network, the NGO has stabilized the lives of more than 15,000 girls, women, and their dependents.
