Kingston City Run

Bright and early the runners, walkers take to the streets of with the Pirates Kingston City Run 5k Run/Walk through Kingston.

Pirates Beach Clean Up

Port Royal Plastic Treasure Hunt, will see participants collecting plastic around the Port Royal community while searching for hidden clues. The grand prize is $150,000. Teams can register to enter the competition for JMD $7,500 per team (Early Bird rate $6,000). Each team can have up to 4 members.

  • Crews must have 2-4 members
  • All plastic must be collected from designated areas
  • Safety first – gloves and bags provided

ABOUT PORT ROYAL

In the 17th century, Port Royal was the headquarters of the numerous swashbuckling scoundrels that plundered the high seas. This location could not be more fitting for this event.

Of the more famous pirates to be associated with Port Royal are Sir Henry Morgan, Calico Jack, and Blackbeard Teach.

The plans are to make this an annual event catering to not only locals but also providing another attraction that visitors from all over the world would attend.

This event can also be a fantastic attraction to cruise ship passengers visiting Port Royal.

From the 17th to the early 18th century, this region was a hotspot for piracy, with pirates like Blackbeard, Captain Kidd, and Anne Bonny terrorizing the seas and amassing fortunes in stolen treasure.

HONORING HERITAGE

nspired by pirate festivals from around the world, co-founders Jo-Anne Paxton and Peter Shoucair proposed the idea to the Jamaica Tourist Board with a vision to create a unique cultural experience that honors Port Royal’s colorful legacy. With the help of their strategic partners Jeny Jenny and Bobby Wong, the festival is now set to become an annual event that not only delights locals but also attracts visitors from across the globe, offering yet another exciting reason to explore the rich heritage of Kingston, Jamaica. visiting Port Royal.

Peter Shoucair’s knowledge, experience, and technical acumen spans two decades and diverse aspects of the event production industry. He is a trained and experienced event planner and production manager, lighting director and technical director. He has worked on events in Aruba, Bahamas, Cancun Mexico, Hawaii, Jamaica, and Orlando, Florida

Jo-Anne a Destination Wedding Consultant & Event Management Specialist. currently works in the tourism industry as part of her family business, bringing over 25 years of experience in event management to her role. She is a certified wedding and event planner with a strong focus on destination weddings and has earned multiple certifications from both local and international institutions.

To most Jamaicans, this former Festival Queen is known as ‘Jenny Jenny’ or the ‘Energizer Bunny’. She’s a popular voice on radio and a constant presence on the entertainment scene. She’s the host of Radio 2’s Jenny Jenny Show and the host of the Dancin’ Dynamites dance competition.
